Tom parties down celebrating 20th anniversary of L.A. Riots (I mean Civil Unrest)

As we enter the second day of the cultural celebration of the 20th Anniversary Los Angeles Riots, Tom is all over the T.V. landscape. Since major public figures such as Chief Darryl Gates and Mayor Tom Bradley are no longer with us, Tom is filling in admirably and burnishing his and their images. Other luminaries from the original festivities such as Rodney king, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jessie Jackson and Peter Ueberroth took well deserved self-congratulatory victory laps.

Tom in a testament to market forces and private sector competition related how he became an elite starting with a store selling slightly used TV sets immediately following the riots.

Can we get Damion “Football” Williams and Reginald Denny to do a hug for the camera?

Is that Randy Newman cruising Florence and Normandie in the Buick convertible with a big red-head by his side

So what’s the menu like? Twice-charred Korean food with half-empty booze bottles for the bar? Although the music is a given – a continual loop of “I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire”. 😉

Yes, BBQ Koreans, I mean Korean BBQ is a staple of the celebration. Also the game guess who is packing is popular.
